Manegment style

The founder of Volkswagen has a authoritarian management style.

Luka de Meo, having headed group of the Volkswagen company, I have found out that the organization of work of department of marketing and production divides labor process into separate linear stages which complicate creation of innovations for a brand. Nevertheless without constant creation of innovations no department can help the company to achieve a goal to become the world leader in production of cars - both with economic, and from the ecological point of view. Development in employees of bigger readiness to take the risk and to try new became the first task of Luka de Meo.

He has proposed the solution - to create community of experts, solid and motivated by a convincing and clear common goal. Before Luka's arrival to the company marketing specialists and engineers have been scattered over 154 countries and lived in 24 different time zones. They worked separately, their duties have been narrowly defined, and the organization of their labor process was based on the principle of free federation where employees seldom interacted with each other, not to mention experts from other departments. It was necessary for de Meo that his experts felt like the citizens of solid community ready to cooperate as uniform division that VW has achieved the objectives - innovative solutions for creation of the uniform powerful brand speaking one language with all.

Volkswagens policy on complaints

It is correct to begin the history "Volkswagen" since October, 1933. Ferdinand Porsche have developed the program of creation of the national Volkswagen car. The plant for production of the national car was constructed in Fallerslebena (it is renamed into Wolfsburg later). In 1938 Hitler himself has put the first stone in his basis. During World War II the enterprise made military vehicles. Separate admiration can be expressed to marketing specialists of Volkswagen of that time who by the time of formation of the Federal Republic of Germany have created powerful network of sale and have adjusted export of 50 thousand cars, Germany has meanwhile sold 15 thousand.

We will consider financial performance

The division which generates to group the greatest revenue (about 49%) – "Volkswagen - passenger cars" – last year has shown decrease (-0,6%) that partially is explained by drop in sales in Russia and Brazil. At the same time the average price of the sold car in the considered period has grown by 1,2%. The three of the most sold models had included Golf, Jetta, Polo. It should be noted that this segment has no high operational profitability which in 2017 has made 1,8% against 2,0% the previous year. The result of year was affected by the increased marketing expenses as a result of "diesel" scandal.

Merger procedure

The management of Porsche had to agree to absorption because of own financial problems. Troubles have arisen because of the ambitious plan of the president of the producer of sports cars of Porsche VendelinVidekinga most to take control over Volkswagen. However the difficult scheme of receiving the credits for realization of absorption has led to big debts. Because of crisis of liquidity to find means for repayment of debts it has appeared it is impossible. Porsche was necessary to refuse merger of VW and most to fall a victim. Thus according to the transaction, the family of Porsche and Piekha have received 50% in the VW-Porsche united company. The earth of Lower Saxony has kept 20%, and at the investor from Qatar, there was an opportunity to take 14,9-19,9% of shares of the united company.

As a result of the transaction in the world market there was a new auto giant which owns 10 popular brands of cars.

6.Volkswagen suffered losses from:

Volkswagen has suffered losses from "diesel scandal": the company was accused in the USA that it equipped diesel cars with the software underestimating real indicators of emissions of harmful substances.Following the results of 2016 the loss of Volkswagen has made 1,301 billion euros against a profit of 14,794 billion euros the previous year. With emissions the company has spent 16,2 billion euros for settlement.

Today the company is:

Volkswagen Group concern – one of the world's largest enterprises in the field of automotive industry. 12 companies are its part today: Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Bentley, Man, Scania, Volkswagen commercial cars, Porsche and Ducati.

In 2017 buyers have been given 10 312 400 cars worldwide (in 2016 — 9 930 600 cars, in 2015 — 10 137 000 cars, in 2013 — 9 731 000 cars).
