1. Read the article by Amy Welborn “ The Da Vinci Code: the facts behind the fiction” (p. 76) from the section Supplementary Reading.

2. Be ready to discuss in groups the topics below:

· Many scholars think “ Da Vinci Code ” by Dan Brown is an overrated novel which has many errors about religion, history, and art.

· What does the success of a book depend on?

· The reason why this book is so successful isn’t hard to explain (the book held one of the top two or three places on best-seller lists. More than 3 million copies (ed: now over 40 million) are in print.
