Present Continuous for future
Use the Present Continuous to express plans and arrangements in the future. (For the form of the Present Continuous, see page 83.) We're meeting Sonia at the station at six tomorrow. John isn't starting his university course in October because he didn't pass his exams.
We often ask about plans with this tense. What are you doing tomorrow evening? Are you staying in Florida for two weeks?
We use it when the plans and arrangements are certain, e.g. when we have bought tickets/made arrangements/made a strong decision. What are you doing tomorrow evening? I'm having dinner with Yusuf. We're meeting in town.
