PART 2 HADES

1. to behave – do not cause troubles

Behave yourself

2. nutty – crazy

Isn’t that too nutty?

3. fabulous – extremely good

Fabulous party. You know, I haven’t seen this much love in the room…

4. on someone’s behalf – instead of someone

On behalf of my son I want to thank you all!

I’ve never been so choked up since I got a hunk of moussaka (a Greek dish made from meat, cheese) caught in my throat.

2. ruthless (syn. cruel) – willing to make people suffer so you can achieve your aims

He was as mean as he was ruthless.

3. lugubrious – sad or serious

Coming, your most lugubriousness!

4. to maim – to injure someone seriously

Memo to me, memo to me, maim you after my meeting

5. to mess up – to be the cause of something of someone’s problems

6. gonna – going to

Is this kid gonna mess up my hostile takeover bid, or what? (to take control over the world)

7. Gross! – very unpleasant

8. fate – future

9. unleash – to allow something or someone to be free

Unleash the Titans!

10. immortal – you can’t die

11. mortal – human are not able to live or ever

How do you kill a god? I do not know! They’re immortal! Bingo! They’re immortal! So, first you got to turn the little sunspot mortal!

PART 4 PANIC AND PAIN STOLE THE BABY

1. frantic – very urgent

Zeus led all the gods on a frantic search.

PART 5 HERCULES’S GROWING AND FINDS OUT THE TRUTH

1. To twist – to injure a part of your body

When old Penelope twisted her ankle back there, I thought we were done for.

2. the last straw – the last of a series of events that causes an angry reaction

This is the last straw!

3. menace – someone that is dangerous and likely to cause harm

That boy is a menace!

PART 6 HERCULES AND PHILOCTETES

1. satyr - a creature in ancient Greek stories with a man’s upper body and head and the ears, horns, and legs of a goat

What’s the matter? Never seen a satyr before?

2. retired - no longer working because you have reached the age where you are officially too old to work

I am retired!

3. give up - to stop doing something that you are trying hard to do

You don’t give up, do you?

PART 7 HERCULES MEETS MEG

1. damsel - an old word for a young woman who is not married

2. distress - an unpleasant and difficult situation

3. to handle - to take action in order to deal with a difficult situation

I can handle this!

4. sword -a weapon with a short handle and a long sharp blade

Get your sword!

5. decathlon -a sports event that consists of ten different sports

You can get away with mistakes like this in minor decathlons but this is the big leagues!

6. pectorals – muscles on the chest

Did they give you a name along with those rippling pectorals?

7. to give a ride

Can we give you a ride?

8. to tie - to make a knot with two ends of a piece of string, rope

I tie my own sandals and everything

9. patella - the bone at the front of your knee

She is a real pain in the patella!

10. rodent - a type of small animal that has long sharp front teeth, for example a mouse

How cute, a couple of rodents looking for a theme park

12. speak of the devil - used when someone you ave just been talking about arrives unexpectedly

13. egregious - extremely bad

14. oversight – problem, fail

15. foul-up – mistake

And this time no foul-ups.
