Exercise 1. Works in groups of four (not more). Read and translate the dialogues. Find out the meaning of the underlined words and expressions using your dictionaries and write them down into your vocabulary-books.

Selling Goods

- What countries do you do business with?

- With the USA and Canada.

- What kinds of goods do you sell?

- We sell machines.

- There is a heavy demand for your goods. Why?

- Because our goods are of high quality.

- On what terms do you deliver goods to your buyers?

- We deliver our machines by three lots.

- Thank you. I wish you every success.

Buying Goods

- When did you have meeting last?

- Yesterday morning.

- What goods were you interested in?

- We are interested in computers.

- Was the price attractive to you or was it too high?

- It was not high.

- What discount did the seller offer you?

- Five per cent.

- Did you agree to this discount?

- Yes, I did.

Exercise 2. Work in pairs and reproduce the dialogues.

Exercise 3. C hange the underlined words and expressions into the suitable ones from the list below, and write down your new dialogues.

Products, things; parts, pieces; to propose, to suggest; dollars per unit; did you like, have you chosen; reduction; are very useful, are very popular; to make business with, to work with; to bring, to get.

Exercise 4. Work in pairs: learn your dialogue in roles and reproduce it for the rest of the students.
