My working day

On weekdays my working day begins еаrly in the morning. I am an early-riser. I get up at six o'clock, open the window and do my morning exercises. Then I go in to the bathroom. I wash my hands and face, clean my teeth and brush my hair. Then I go to the bedroom and make my bed. I dress myself. I put on my shirt and trousers (my dress), my socks and my jacket. At a quarter past seven I have my breakfast, listen to the radio or TV news. For the breakfast I have potatoes and meat, coffee and a sandwich. Then I go to school. My school is in 15 minutes' walk.

At school our classes start at 20 minutes past 8 and last till half past 2. At 8.20 the bell rings, the teacher comes in and the lesson begins. Each pair of lessons lasts for an hour and 20 minutes. After each pair we have a break or interval. During the breaks we have a rest, discuss latest news. After the second pair we have a longer break to have meals.

Normally we have four pairs a day. The lessons are usually over at 14.30. If I have no activities after lessons I go home. At home I have dinner. For the dinner I have soup or borsch, porridge and meat, a glass of compote. I have a short rest and then start doing my home assignments. As a rule it takes me about three or four hours to cope with them properly. Very often I play with my younger brother. Sometimes I do our shopping and help my mum to do chores. Three times a week I go to the chess club where I play chess for two or three hours. Once or twice a week I have private English lessons to improve my spoken English. I go to the library very often. I like to work there. When I have free time, my friends and I go to the sports ground to play football or basketball. If an interesting program is on I watch TV. Very seldom, probably once a month, on weekdays I go to the cinema, museums.

In the evening all my family is together. We watch TV program, read periodicals, discuss the events of the day.

Then at 11 o’clock I tell everybody «Good night», wish good dreams and go to bed.
