The emergence of Equity in the 14th century

Equity was developed in 14th century to resolve disputes where damages were not a suitable remedy, and in an effort to introduce fairness into the legal system. The distinction between "law" and "equity" is an accident of history. The law courts or "courts of law" were the courts in England that enforced the king's laws in medieval times.

Problems of common law courtswas: at first, juries were bribed; at second, common law courts were expensive and lengthy; at third, people petitioned the king to "redress their grievances"

The birth and growth of Parliament in the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries.

The first Parliament of Edward 1 was summoned where were 2 representative from every shire and town. He needed money, but it was dangerous to collect taxes without people's agree. And Edward using Parliament to receive official agreement of people to pay taxes.

The Parliament in the middle of 14 th century became bicameral:

First house was House of Commons. There are 2 representatives from constituency from knights and burgesses.

Second house was House of Lord. There are Lords Temporal (dukes, barons) and Lord Spiritual (bishops).
