I study at a marine school. I am a cadet. Peter is a cadet too. He is a good cadet. He works much. He speaks English well. But now Peter is not present at the lesson. He is absent. He is on duty today.
We are school-mates. We want to be sailors. Peter’s father is a captain. He works on a big passenger ship. The ship’s name is the “Rossiya”.

I sail on a modern Russian ship. It is a large dry-cargo vessel. She carries different cargoes from Murmansk to Greece and Turkey. Now the ship is not in the dock. She is in the open sea.
Our chief-mate is on the bridge. He keeps watch every day. The helmsman is at the helm. I am in my cabin now.
