WEEK 23-29 November 2015

Thanksgiving – both for 1^st and 2^nd year students (Focus for the 1^st year students – colors, tastes, the story of the holiday. Focus for the 2^nd year students – thanking and sharing, relations, discovery.)

Objectives – kids will:

- Learn about traditions to celebrate Thanksgiving in the USA;

- Revise names of food products, fruit and vegetables;

- Explore a new context for names of colors, tastes and smells;

- Reflect on basic human values, such as kindness, friendship and duty;

- Learn about the act of Pilgrim’s discovery and inhabitation of America;

- Be introduced to a historic reliс of Plymouth Rock.

Revise letters B, T, S, D, L, H, K, Q, P, M, G, W, F, A, J. Take letter “C” [k] for CORN. Make up a short associated story. Print out cards, stick them on straws and ask children to raise the corresponding flag when you name a word starting with “T”, “S” “B”,“D”, “L”, “H” K, Q, P, “M”, G, W. F, A, J, C [k].

Play a game, throw a ball to the kids and ask them to catch it only if the word starts with “C [k]”. Ask stronger students to name their own words starting with “C [k]”.
