Урок обучение чтению с полным пониманием содержания прочитанного текста. Изучающее чтение. Учебник Spotlight, 9

Заключительный урок по теме “Art and Literature”.

Тема урока: Уильям Шекспир - известный английский поэт и драматург.

Цель: - совершенствование навыков чтения

- расширение лексического запаса по теме

- отработка Present and Past Tenses (Simple, Continuous)

- развитие навыков монологической речи

Задачи: - расширение кругозора, социокультурной компетенции

- научить учащихся извлекать информацию из текста

- проконтролировать знания лексики, грамматики, письма, устной речи, умения читать.

Формы: работа в парах, индивидуальная работа, фронтальная работа с классом, беседа

Методы: наглядные, демонстрация, упражнения, поисковые, чтение про себя и вслух.

Оборудование:- индивидуальный раздаточный материал (текст про драматурга, карточки с заданиями и вопросами)

- фото драматурга, список произведений

- словари

 

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент.

Good afternoon, my dear pupils!

I am glad to see you.

How is it going?

Today we are going to read and speak about one famous person.

2. Речевая разминка.

But first answer some questions, please.

1. Do you like going to the theatre?

2. How often do you go there?

3. What are your favourite actors or actresses, playwrights?

4. Do you know your family’s favourite actors, playwrights?

5. What genres of plays do you know?

6. Who makes plays? Who else?

(Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы, дополняют друг друга)

3. Предтекстовый этап.

Can you guess about what person we are going to talk and read?

(actor, actress, playwright, scene)

Look at these pictures/показываю фото драматурга/ Do you know him?

(yes/no/William Shakespeare)

So, we are going to read an article about William Shakespeare, an English playwright, poet, and actor.

Look at the pictures again. What do they tell you about William Shakespeare?

(He has grey eyes/He gained a success…)

What information would you like to know about him?

(How old was he? When did he live? …)

Read the title, please. “William Shakespeare, an English playwright, poet, and actor” What do you expect to find out from the text?

Before reading the text, look at the blackboard. Here are some words that help you to understand the article:

4. Текстовый этап.

(first reading)

Your task will be to read the text and try to do some interesting tasks. First of all, here are summaries of the five paragraphs of the article.

a) ___Who exactly was he?

b) ___What did Shakespeare write?

c) ___What were his plays about?

d) ___Where were his plays performed?

e) ___Who went to see them (plays)?

The aim- to match them to the correct paragraph.

OK. Let us check your answers.

What interested you most about William Shakespeare?

Now look through the text again and try to do this task. (второе прочтение) Here are some answers to some questions from paragraph 1-3. What are the questions?

1) He is the greatest writer in the English language.

2) Shakespeare wrote thirty-six plays, all of which are still studied, performed and even made into films all over the world!

3) In The Merchant of Venice, a well-known comedy, a moneylender asks for a pound of flesh from a merchant who can't pay him back some money!

4) Most of Shakespeare's plays were performed at the Globe Theatre in London

5) All social classes enjoyed going to the Globe.

Find the sentences in which you can see this information. Read it and translate.

Very good! Now let’s work with vocabulary. There are two words in the text that mean “genres of a play”. Find them!

Next, match a word in the text to the following definitions.

c) a person who is the property of someone and has to work for food (slave)

h) the development of events outside a person's control, regarded as predetermined by a supernatural power. (fate)

j) the action of deceiving someone. (deception)

k) keep or detain (someone). (hold)

l) a person in a novel, play, or film. (character)

m) (of a surface or body) throw back (heat, light, or sound) without absorbing it. (reflect)

5.Послетекстовый этап.

What can you say about William Shakespeare?

Do you want to watch his stage plays?

What did you learn that you did not know before?

Let’s summaries the information about this outstanding person. Sentence by sentence.

Can you offer the plan that helps to speak or write about famous person and his art?

 Possible answers: (1. Personal information: name, date and place of birth, appearance 2. Personal achievements)

6. Итог. Домашнее задание.

So, today we knew a lot about one famous playwright William Shakespeare. But there are a lot of wonderful playwrights and directors all over the world, as well as actors and actress. And it would be very interesting for all of us if you write about these persons. Write about his or her background, success, and why you like him or her. Use your notes and plan. Find a photo if you want.
