British Telecommunications plc (BT) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BT Group plc and encompasses virtually all business and assets of the BT Group. Their strategy and policies are to follow the strategy and policies of BT Group plc which are described in this Business Review. BT is one of the world’s leading communications services companies, serving the needs of customers in the UK and in more than 170 countries worldwide.

In the UK they are a leading communications services provider. They sell products and services to consumers, small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and the public sector. BT also sells wholesale products and services to communications providers (CPs) in the UK and around the world. Globally, and supply managed networked IT services to multinational corporations, domestic businesses national and local government departments.

The strategy of BT focuses on three key areas – customer service delivery, cost transformation and investing for the future. These three areas are the building blocks for making BT a better business.

The Board of Directors is:

1. Sir Michael Rake- Chairman, appointed in September 2007;

2. Ian Levingston- Chief Executive, appointed in December 2008;

3. Tony Chanmugan – Group Finance Director, appointed in December 2008;

4. Gavin Patterson – CEO, BT Retails;

5. KarenRichardson -Non-executive Director, appointed in November 2011;

6. Nick Rose- None-executive Director, appointed in January 2011
