Enterprise systems and types of system

So what is an Enterprise system?:

A system that supports enterprise-wide or cross-functional requirements, rather than a singl department or group within the organization.

Enterprise information systems is a combination of hardware and software tools that automate processes and procedures in the daily activities of the enterprise, improving staff productivity and enabling managers organizations rapidly and adequately to make decisions on the management and planning of the company.
Modern information systems are an integral part of the infrastructure of enterprise management and contain a variety of tools and software for managing business processes. All of these tools at the present stage of development of information technologies become available to small businesses

The big news, which really is no news, is that enterprise systems, as much as any other kinds of system are about the users and the business context. They aren't about clever technology, clever programmers or clever anything else.

They are all about a ruthless focus on the business goals and helping the users of the system achieve those goals.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

ERP is short for enterprise resource planning.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is business management software that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business. ERP software integrates all facets of an operation, including development, manufacturing, sales and marketing.

ERP Software Modules

ERP software consists of many enterprise software modules that are individually purchased, based on what best meets the specific needs and technical capabilities of the organization. Each ERP module is focused on one area of business processes, such as product development or marketing. Some of the more common ERP modules include those for product planning, material purchasing, inventory control, distribution, accounting, marketing, finance.

As the ERP methodology has become more popular, software applications have emerged to help business managers implement ERP in other business activities and may also incorporate modules for business intelligence -- and present them as a single package.

The basic goal is to provide one central repository for all information that is shared by all the various ERP facets in order to smooth the flow of data across the organization.

At its core, ERP helps employees do their jobs more efficiently by breaking down barriers between business units

When you add up these advantages, the value of ERP—particularly cloud ERP—is clear. With an ERP solution, employees have access to accurate information that enables them to make better decisions faster. Not only that, but ERP software helps to eliminate redundant processes and systems, dramatically lowering the cost of doing business overall.
