Describe the accident in detail. Do you think it had been planned? Prove your point of view using the text.

6. Write down the passage “Then the accident happened…The road, he noticed, was covered in ice.” Prepare good reading and translation of the extract.

7. In groups agree on a sequence of five mistakes that led up to the tragedy and write them down. Swap your list with another group. Read their sequence and discuss what Colin should or shouldn’t have done at each stage. Paraphrase the sentences using the pattern ‘I wish…’

Think of five sentences about Colin beginning with the words ‘If he hadn’t …’.

8. Reproduce the chapter letting your partner interrupt you with the sentencesbased on the contents of the chapter beginning with ‘Unfortunately…’.

Chapter 6.The News.

Give the summary of the previous chapter.

Think of at least five headlines that could appear in newspapers after the accident (mind the grammar, spelling and style). Think of the notes a reporter could make for such an article. Write an article on one of the headlines. Limit yourselves to 150-200 words.
