People complain about the lack of free time and as a result very often we see crowds of gloomy, exhausted and bored by their routines people. The answer is obvious, it`s travelling. There are a lot of means of travelling: by sea, by plane, by car, on foot. Tastes differ. That is why it is up to you to decide which means of travelling you would prefer. All means of travelling have their advantages and disadvantages. And people choose one according to their plans. I like to travel. First of all, the members of our family usually have long walks in the country. Such walks are called hikes. If we want to see countryside we have to spend a part of our summer holidays on hikes. During such hikes we see a lot of interesting places, sometimes we meet interesting people. It's useful for all members of our family. As for me, it's more comfortable to travel by train and by plane. When I travel by plane, I don't spend a lot of time going from one place to another, I like to fly. If I travel by train or by plane my friends see me off at the railway station or in the airport. I like to travel by car. It's interesting too, because you can see many things in a short time. Sometimes we go to the seaside for a few days. As usual the weather is warm and we can swim. So I can say that I enjoy all kinds of travelling very much.

1. This article is about Mother Teresa her family and childhood. It also tells about her personality and her charity work. It describes the way she became famous all around the world.

3. Mother Teresa decided to devote her life to people in need because one day she saw dirty children wearing rags and sleeping in doorways. She decided to go to work with the poor and help them.
4. In 1948, Sister Teresa started her own group of nuns. Later, she started homes for children without families. She also started clinics.

III. Let’s talk about accommodation.
We have a nice flat in a new block of flats. Our flat is on the fourth floor. It has all modern conveniences: central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot running water, a lift and a chute to carry rubbish down. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat. The living-room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat.
The bedroom is smaller than the living-room and not so light as there is only one window in it. In this room there are two beds with a bedside-table between them. It’s really wonderful to have a room for yourself. My room is not large but very cosy. There isn’t much furniture in it, only the most necessary. In my opinion, the study is the best room in our flat. But the warmest place in our flat is the kitchen, I think — the place where the whole family gathers every evening not only to have supper together, but also to speak and rest. I like the English proverb: “My home is my castle” because my flat is, indeed, my castle.

1. This article is about a famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci «The Mona Lisa», which has been attracting tourists` attention since 16th century. The Mona Lisa is a masterpiece, a magnificent work of art, but it is also a part of modern popular culture.

3. First of all, the Mona Lisa is a great work of art. Secondly, Mona Lisa’s smile makes the painting so special. The portrait seems alive and real.
4. The Mona Lisa is also a part of modern popular culture. Her image appears on plates, Tshirts, mouse pads and in advertisements. Perhaps for this reason, officials at the Louvre Museum placed the painting in a specially built area in a room with other great 16th century Italian paintings. In this way, visitors have a better chance to appreciate the painting as a work of art rather than as a tourist attraction.

The family is very important as a unit in our society. Nothing else but family can be an emotional center of people's life. Every mother feels great affection for her children and tries to bring them up in a proper way. Understanding between the members of the family and consideration for others are very important in family relationship. Tenderness, warm-heartedness and respect must always be present in the family to make it friendly. A lot of activities help members of the family to be on friendly terms: discussing all the family plans together, going on trips hikes together, visiting museums, theaters, exhibitions and exchanging opinions about them, sharing the same joys and sorrows. Now I’d like to tell you about my family. Our family is not large. We are a family of four: my father, my mother, my younger brother and I. My name is Olga. I am seventeen. I am a school leaver. My younger brother is ten. He is a pupil of the fifth form. He looks like our father. As for me everybody says I look like my mother. I am an ordinary girl of 17. Our family lives in Vitebsk. We have a nice three-roomed flat on the fourth floor of a multistoried building. My mother is about 40. She looks pretty well. We all love dearly our Mum, and are always ready to help her about the house. We try to share our duties. My mother is an economist. The firm she works in deals with trading. My father is an engineer in computers. He is considered to be an experienced engineer. We are very proud of him. My younger brother also has his duties about the house. He helps mother to set the table and wash the dishes. On Saturdays Dad joins us in our work about the house. He likes to make or repair something. We don't have such problems as misunderstanding between the members of the family. I think that it is due to the age of my parents and their character.
