Оксюморон (oxymoron/oxymoronic group)

Метонимия (metonymy): a) She was still, listening. All the doors in the house seemed to be open. The house was alive with soft, quick steps and running voices. ( K. Mansfield, The Selected Stories ) b) And now an ermine toque and a gentleman in gray met just in front of her. He was tall, stiff, dignified, and she was wearing the ermine toque she’d bought when her hair was yellow. (K. Mansfield, The Selected Stories)

Развёрнутая метонимия: a) The living-room was crowded with furniture entirely too large for it, so that to move about was continually to stumble over scenes of ladies swinging in the gardens of Versailles. (F. S. Fitzgerald, “The Great Gatsby”) b) The chauffeur […] heard the shots … I drove from the station directly to Gatsby’s house… four of us, the chauffeur, butler, gardener and I hurried down the pool. […] With little ripples that were hardly the shadows of waves, the laden mattress moved irregularly down the pool. Определения оксюморона: «уже по своей природе оксюморон противоречив, суть его алогизм» (Артемова). Оксюморон – стилистическая фигура«в которой сочетание контрастных по значению слов создает новое понятие или раскрывает противоречивость описываемого» (Арнольд).

Несовместимые понятия в логике:

А) контрадикторные (противоположные)
