Sheetings use in anticorrosive practice for isolation of metal from hostile environment. To provide good protection against corrosion the covering has to be continuous, have good adhesion with the main metal (coupling), to be impenetrable for hostile environment, will evenly be distributed on a surface, to possess high wear resistance, heat resistance and hardness (in some cases).

Sheetings subdivide on metal and nonmetallic.

Metal sheetings

Metal sheetings are applied on surfaces (metal, glass, ceramics, plastic, etc.) for protection them from corrosion, giving of hardness, conductivity, wear resistance and in the decorative purposes.

Nonmetallic sheetings are applied to isolation of metal products, their protection against influence of environment (moisture), giving of a beautiful look.

Nonmetallic sheetings can be divided on paint and varnish, polymeric, coverings rubbers, greasings, silicate enamels, pastes.

Paint and varnish sheetings.

Paint and varnish sheetings are widespread and are applied most often. Film-forming substances, fillers, pigments, softeners, solvents, catalysts are a part of a covering. The covering such not only well protects a product in various atmospheres, but also give it pleasant appearance

Polymeric sheetings.

Polymeric sheetings are applied on a product surface in the form of hot pitch for the purpose of protection it from environment. The covering pitch can be carried out by an okunaniye, a gas-thermal or vortex dusting, and also a usual brush. After cooling on a surface the protective continuous film is formed of polymer, by thickness usually to steam of millimeters.

The most widespread polymers which are applied for the purpose of protection against corrosion, it: polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyisobutylene, ftoroplasta, epoxies, etc.

Sheeting rubbers (gumming).

The sheeting rubbers (gumming) is carried out by rubber and ebonite for protection against influence of environment of various capacities, pipelines, tanks, chemical devices, tanks for transportation and storage of chemicals.

Sheetings silicate enamels.

Sheetings silicate enamels apply to the products working at high temperatures, pressure in very aggressive, chemically active environments. Formation of an enamel sheeting possible in two ways: dry (apply powder) or wet (paste).

The main lack of an enamel sheeting it is possible to call low durability at influence of shock loadings, i.e. cracking, a skalyvaniye.

Sheetings from pastes and greasings.

Sheetings from pastes and greasings use generally at long storage and transportation of hardware. Pastes or greasings are applied on a surface of the protected object with dispersion, a brush or a special tampon. After drying the protective film is formed. She protects products from influence of moisture, dust, various gaseous substances.

Sheetings from pastes and greasings are very effective, but the main their shortcoming can be considered that it is very easy to break integrity of the formed film.
