Text. Great Britain.
Great Britain is situated on two large islands. The larger is Great Britain, the smaller is Ireland. Its official name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Great Britain consists of four parts: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Its area is two hundred and forty thousand square kilometres. The population is fifty six million people.
The capital of Great Britain is London. It is situated on the river Thames.
Other big cities are Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, etc. They are very important ports.
There are many rivers in Great Britain. Some of them are navigable. But there are no very long rivers.
