Friends play a very important role in our lives. But not every person around us can be called a good friend. A friend in need is a friend indeed – we all know this saying and I believe this is true.

I believe it is very important that you have a person beside you who you can trust. One of the most important things in a good friend for me is being supportive. A good friend is always near when you feel bad, lonely or upset. He is always ready to talk to you, to give you advice and support you. He also needs to know how to listen.

I have a lot of friends but I don’t think all of them would be near if something happened. Most of them would probably say they don’t have time or they don’t know what to do in a difficult situation. Sometimes you just need a person to listen to you, to stay with you for some time.

I believe I’m lucky to have such people in my life. My best friend is my mother. We have very good relationship with her and I can tell her almost everything. She is a grown- up and experienced person, so she can always give some good advice.

I also have a friend, her name is Sasha. She is a very nice person, kind and helpful. Once I had a hard situation in my life and was very upset, and it was Sasha who helped me a lot. She was talking to me all the time and taking me out to the cinema and cafes to make me feel better.    Друзья играют важную роль в нашей жизни. Думаю, очень важно иметь рядом с собой человека, которому можно доверять. Одна из самых важных вещей в хорошем друге – это поддержка. Хороший друг всегда рядом, когда вам плохо, одиноко или вы расстроены. Он всегда готов поговорить, дать совет и поддержать. Он также должен уметь слушать.

У меня много друзей, но я не думаю, что каждый из них будет рядом, если что-то случится. Большинство, наверное, скажут, что у них нет времени или что они не знают, что делать в сложной ситуации. Иногда просто нужен человек, который выслушает, будет рядом какое-то время.

Я считаю, что мне повезло иметь таких людей в своей жизни. Моя лучшая подруга – это моя мама. У нас очень хорошие отношения и я ей могу рассказать практически все. Она взрослая и опытная, поэтому всегда может дать хороший совет.

У меня также есть подруга Саша. Она очень хороший человек, добрая и всегда готова помочь. Однажды у меня была сложная ситуация в жизни и я была очень расстроен, и именно Саша очень помогла мне. Она все время говорила со мной, мы ходили в кино и кафе, чтобы мне стало лучше.

Success is very important in every person’s life. It is something that we achieve after having made certain effort. The meaning of success has changed and evolved over time. Today people connect it mainly with abundance of money and luxurious possessions. However, recent researches have shown that money has little to do with success. I know that the winner of the Nobel Prize can be considered successful, although he doesn’t get lots of money for it. The person who makes an effort to save endangered animals can be considered successful, although he’s been only spending money, not earning them. There are people who create masterpieces in the fields of art, music or literature. They can stay unknown during their life and earn little money. However, when their work gets wide recognition, they become successful. According to the latest research success is connected with genes. Some people are more successful than others because they are born in happier families. Other than that, spouses often get more successful than single people. Friends and family are very important for gaining success. Good relations with close people lead to success and happiness. Being attractive is rather important for reaching success. However, plastic or cosmetic surgeries don’t give the same effect. Helping others and being involved in some socially useful work is also a way to success. Psychologists state that those who have interesting hobbies have more chances to become successful. These are just general tips which we may consider or not. The most important thing is to define how we see success.        Успех очень важен в жизни каждого человека. Это то, чего мы достигаем, приложив некоторые усилия. Человек, который приложил усилия, чтобы спасти вымирающих животных, может считаться успешным, хотя он только тратил деньги, а не зарабатывал их. Есть люди, которые создают шедевры в области искусства, музыки или литературы. Они могут оставаться неизвестными в течение своей жизни и зарабатывать мало денег. Однако когда их работа получает широкое признание, они становятся успешными. Последние исследования связывают успех с генами. Некоторые люди более успешны, чем другие, потому что они родились в более счастливых семьях. Кроме того, супружеские пары часто более успешны, чем одинокие люди. Друзья и семья очень важны для достижения успеха. Хорошие отношения с близкими людьми ведут к успеху и счастью. Привлекательный внешний вид весьма важен для достижения успеха. Однако, пластиковые или косметические операции не обеспечивают того же эффекта. Помощь другим и участие в каком-то общественно полезном труде - это также путь к успеху. Психологи утверждают, что те, у кого есть интересные увлечения, имеют больше шансов стать успешными. Это лишь общие советы, которые мы можем учитывать или нет. Самое главное определиться с тем, каким мы видим успех.

Many people believe that being intelligent, wealthy and attractive is the best way to find happiness and success. However, the recent researches have shown that these things aren`t as important as we tend to think. A group of scientists from all around the world have made a list of 10 tips how to be really happy.

 

First of all, think about your parents and grandparents. Were they happy? The problem is that some people are born simply happier than others! The difference in people genes is the main reason for their different level of happiness.

 

Secondly, all studies show that married couples are happier than single people. Moreover, the spouses are often successful. By the way, just living together doesn`t have the same effect.

 

Furthermore, it is friends and family that really makes people happy. Those who have large families with many children and lots of close friends are usually much happier than people who have a lot of money but just live on their own.

 

You shouldn`t want more than you`ve got! People who expect to have a successful career, lots of money and perfect relations aren`t as happy as those who accept what they`ve got.

 

Besides, helping others is considered to have positive psychological effects as it is not only good for them, but also makes you feel happier!

 

Four out of five people claimed that they become happier when thinking about Lord and religion. Moreover, very religious people live longer too.

 

If you want to be happy, you should also be attractive! However, cosmetic surgery doesn`t have the same effect.

 

Studies show that old people are happy as often as young people and are unhappy less often. This is probably because they spend more time doing the things they enjoy.

 

The next point is money. When you`re poor, money can buy you some happiness. However, when people have enough money to live comfortably, more money doesn`t make them happier.

 

Finally, you mental abilities don`t really matter! Surprisingly, this has very little effect on happiness. Being able to get on well with people is far more important than how intelligent you are.

 

So, these are the main tips that can lead to success and happiness. Thus, it depends on you whether to follow them or not.
