Поскольку 2-я и 3-я формы английского правильного глагола выгля- дят одинаково (accepted-accepted), то в одном предложении может иметь место употребление не одной формы на -ed. Например: The institute in- stalled (2) modernized (3) equipment. Форма 2 - сказуемое, форма 3 - опре- деление: В институте установлено (2) модернизированное (3) оборудова- ние.

Дополнительной трудностью при анализе таких конструкций служит вероятность появления формы –ed в роли определения после определяе- мого существительного, а не перед ним: The equipment installed (3) mod- ernized (2) our laboratory too. - Установленное (3) оборудование модерни- зировало (2) и нашу лабораторию.
