Наречие степени somewhat означает ослабление качества или действия, выраженного словом, которое оно определяет: «немного», «до некоторой степени», «несколько»; «отчасти», «слегка»; somewhat round — слегка закругленный; he was somewhat puzzled — он был несколько озадачен; the incident somewhat influenced his actions in later life — этот случай до некоторой степени повлиял на его поступки / поведение в последующие годы.
