The Present Continuous Tense

Настоящее длительное время

Образование:

Вспомогательный глагол to be в личной форме настоящего времени и причастие I смыслового глагола, т.е. форма на –ing.

am (I)

is (he, she, it) + Ving

are (you, we, they)

Я читаю книгу. I am reading a book.

Отрицательные предложения образуются путем добавления к вспомогательному глаголу (am, is, are) отрицательной частицы not.

He is not (isn’t) writing.

Вопросительные предложения образуются путем постановки вспомогательного глагола (am, is, are) перед подлежащим.

What are you doing?

С Present Continuous часто используются слова:

сейчас – now в данный момент – at the moment

в настоящее время – at present наши дни – nowadays

Употребление:

Настоящее длительное время используется для выражения длительного действия, происходящего в момент речи.

Сейчас мы выгружаем контейнеры. We are unloading containers

now.
