Mind that you would need to have return tickets bought in advance in order to get reimbursement

Mind that you cannot arrive after the project starting date and departure earlier of the project departure date!

Check connections with local transport before buying tickets!!! Sometimes travelling early in the morning is too expensive and can have no suitable connections!!!

Advice from experience - fill in the travel form and contact organisers if there are any concerns.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

  1. All original travel documents, invoices, receipts, boarding passes and RETURN tickets.
  2. Passports or ID cards, those who needed visa please take your invitations as you might be asked for the purpose of your travel at the Boarder Agency in the UK.
  3. Insurance (we cannot reimburse costs of your insurance but STRONGLY advise on having one)
  4. Cash in GBP – none will take payments in EUR or other currency in this country so please have some cash in local currency if you need to purchase tickets. The VISA cards are widely accepted in the UK or debit cards – mostly all with passwords. Currency exchange in Loughborough is possible only in Travel agencies which are open from 9am till about 5pm, and some banks – most of them open in the same hours or less.
  5. Different type of clothes. What we call cold you might consider extremely cold and what is hot for us might be cold for you. Please consider you wardrobe. Have some layers as the weather can change from day to day and even during the day. And please have comfortable shoes which can handle rainy weather as well. Umbrella or rain coat!!!!
  6. If you want you can bring your laptop, iPad etc for your personal use but you need to take full responsibility (once again remember to insure your property just in case). ALSO bring an adaptor for British plugs (see below more info on this). Please mind that Internet connection in the centre is limited to wired and though we will be able to connect some computers we will not be able to connect many. Internet could be purchased at the hotel for the use in leisure time. Free WiFi is available in some local cafes – but they are open from about 8-9am till max 7pm. Also some pubs have connection but not sure you would like to use your laptop there.
  7. We will have an intercultural evening on the second day of the event, so please bring snacks and drinks representing your culture (all should be in luggage rather than a hand luggage! Check with your airport regulations. Or purchased in the airport and sealed as appropriate for traveling in the EU). Please mind that you do not have fridges in your hotel rooms, but if you require one we can provide it at the Fearon Hall. Take whatever you might need to put in the fridge with you before meeting us (see more info below). There will be an opportunity to cook in the centre for the intercultural night. If you plan to do it please contact us to discuss what you need and what we would be able to provide here.
  8. We also encourage you to bring traditional songs, costumes, games, etc so that we can learn more about your culture.
  9. We are looking forward to learn your traditions in your culture.
  10. If you like you can bring some sweets/ cookies for coffee breaks (we will have two each day). There is also possibility to make them – we have a fully equipped kitchen, but need to make arrangements in advance.
  11. We will have a prize for the best energiser, so you can prepare one and make sure that the prize is yours
  12. Ideas for new projects which you would like to share, explore, build on, apply for
  13. We will have a Fair of the organisation on the first day. For that you can bring some materials about your organisation (the one you are from!!!), bring your logo, pictures etc – but please be environmentally friendly J as much as possible.
  14. Your openness and wiliness to learn and share!!!
