Use the unsupervised exercises in your own monologues with the following intentions

a) Excuse yourself before your boss for being late.

b) Persuade your husband that you had some good reasons for not coming in time.

Open the brackets and go on speaking. Make some steps back in the narration, using Past perfect.

a) They (say) that somebody (see) him beating his only son. But as for me, I couldn’t believe these rumours. I (know) him for many years. I (think) him to be the best of fathers. He (be) always kind and tender as far as children (be concerned).

8. Express your point of view.

Do you always remember your past? Do you regret anything and would like to change some things? Or do you think it’s no use thinking about the events that happened in the past and will never be repeated?
