Period of adoption of the Intellectual games

Participant`s registration is due to 20.03.2015. Games will be held on 17-18 April 2015 in KazNTU named after Satpayev, Almaty.

Conditions for participation:

- Teams have to consist 3 people and 1 extra.

- Teams` registration until due time.

Requirements to the participation:

1. Knowledge in petroleum field in these majors: petroleum engineers, geophysical research of oil well, common and oil geology, drilling oil and gas wells, geological basics of elaboration of oil and gas wells.

2. Knowledge of English language level, not less than Upper – Intermediate.

3. Be erudite.

4. Knowledge of the game rules, so in argument situations use these rules.

Rules of the game

The game consists of three tours:

I tour. «Warm-up»

The tour consists of 10 questions on various topics. The team has the right to answer the question, if it is ahead on the button than opposing team only after the signal "time" is given by narrator. If the captain pushes the button before the signal is given, then a false start is fixed. For each correct answer the team is awarded for 30 points. In the case of an incorrect answer given by one of the teams, the opposing team has the right to answer this question. Time thinking is 20 seconds.

II tour. "Oil Industry"

The tour includes three sections of five questions of oil and gas industry. Complexity of the questions determined by the amount of points (10, 20, 30, 40, 50). Questions are selected in order of priority. First selects the team with the lowest scores. In the case of an incorrect answer given by one of the teams, the opposing team has the right to answer this question. There will be14 questions used. The last question is for the audience. Time thinking is 30 seconds.

III tour. «Petroleum poker»

The tour includes 8 cells, where the questions about the oil and gas industry are hidden. Before choosing a cell, the team must make a bet (30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 points) and one special bet "Va-Bank" (Stake one’s all). Questions are selected in order of priority. The team having the least points chooses the first. For each correct answer the team gets the points, which were posed to the selected cell. In case of a wrong answer this amount is deducted from the team’s score. The opposing team does not have the right to pick up the questions. Time thinking is 40 seconds.
