David: Erm…you’re on the A703 then.
Mandy: Yeah, that’s right.
David: Yeah, right. There’s a –hold on – and your left there’s… the first turning is a cul-de-sac*, and then you will need the next turning – the second turning on the left…
Mandy: OK. Hang on… second left. Yeah.
David: …and you follow the road around…
Mandy: can you …yeah, OK. Go on.
David: … and there’s an underpass, to take you under the trunk road* and you keep going along – it’s erm… it’s Hospital Lane – you’ll know it’s Hospital Lane because of the hospital.
Mandy: Ah. Hospital Lane. Is it Hospital Lane?
David: Hospital Lane.
Mandy: Ah. Because I’ve been asking for Hospital Road, and they said there isn’t one. Right, Hospital Lane.
David: Ah. Well, there’s a hospital actually there. It’s a big red and yellow brick building.
Mandy: Good. Good. There is one, yeah, yeah.
David: And you go to the end of there. You come to a junction*.
There’s some traffic lights. I think they’re under local control’ cause there’s an awful lot of… You can’t go through the centre of town –

Mandy: It’s a one-way, isn’t it?
David: Huh?
Mandy: It’s a one-way?
David: It’s …well it’s one-way at the moment ‘cause they’re doing a lot of sewer* work or something.
Mandy: Now tell me… OK. So I go round the one-way system…
David: No, no, no, no. it’s a set of traffic lights…
Mandy: Yeah.
David: Yes. Then you turn right.
Mandy: Yeah.
David: And I think it’s – well, actually, the arrows will tell you where to go ‘cause it’s a diversion* – and you turn about – it’s about the second turning on the left, and you go … er… for about fifty yards…
Mandy: Yeah.
David: … and you come to a main crossroads. I can’t remember what happens there. I think there might be some lights there as well… but get in the right-hand lane…
Mandy: Right-hand lane…
David: OK?
Mandy: Yeah.
David: There – it’s – there’s a Shell service station on the right…
Mandy: Yes.
David: … and you’ll then be in College Lane.
Mandy: College Lane.
David: It’s a long – long straight road.
Mandy: OK. And College Lane… I go up College Lane.
David: College Lane. You’ll see the technical college on your right, and then the primary school …
Mandy: Yes.
David: Er… and you’ll come to a T-junction.
Mandy: Yep.
David: It’s quite a big T-junction … there’s Park Road. Now all this is new. This is all new development. You won’t have seen this before. Erm … Park Road … More lights … you turn right…
Mandy: OK.
David: Erm … until you come to a mini-roundabout*, and you want – on the roundabout – you want the first exit …
Mandy: Yep.
David: … and that’s … that’s Park Close, erm…
Mandy: … and then I keep going … you’re on the left, aren’t you?
David: We’re on the left. Number 27.
Mandy: On the left, number twen- Can you bear to got through that again, quickly? I’ll ju7st put another 10p in. OK. Just … just go through it again, OK. I know I’ve got to come out of the car park, turn right …
David: Yes, you come out of the car park and turn right.
Mandy: I know how to get to Hospital Lane. I’ve done that bit before.
David: You’ve done that bit before. You can get to Hospital Lane.
Mandy: Yes.
David: Erm …Second … second turning… left.
Mandy: Yes, and then I get – keep on that – and get in the right-hand lane.
David: Yes. Right-hand lane, by the Shell service station.
Mandy: Yes.
David: College Lane, that is.
Mandy: Yes. Past the technical college.
David: Yes. Past the technical college, past the primary school. Another junction, another T-junction … Park road …. Turn right.
Mandy: Yep. Take the first exit.
David: First exit at the mini-roundabout.
Mandy: And that’s Park Close.
