This is how we form superlative adjectives:
Regular one-syllable adjectives:
Old oldest, cheap cheapest, thick thickest
Longer adjectives:
Interesting most interesting
Comfortable most comfortable
Two-syllable adjectives that end in -y:
funny -> funniest
Irregular adjectives:
good -> best, bad worst
We usually use the before a superlative:
This is the most interesting book about mountain- climbing in the library.
Spelling rules
• add -r/-st to adjectives that end in -e, nice nicer/nicest, large la где г/largest
• with adjectives that end in consonant + -y. remove -y and add -ier/-iest,
busy busier/busiest, heavy -> heavier/heaviest
• with adjectives that end in a short vowel + consonant, repeat the consonant and add -er/-est, thin thinner/thinnest, big bigger/biggest
prefer
Use the verb prefer to talk about something we like more than another thing or things. She likes coffee but she really loves tea. = She prefers tea (to coffee).
Use prefer with a noun (e.g. tea) or the -ing form of another verb.
I prefer tea to coffee. I prefer drinking tea. Use to, not than, to introduce a preference.
She prefers Mozart to Beethoven.
will for spontaneous decisions and offers
We use will + infinitive when we decide to do something or make an offer to do something at the same time as we are speaking. The action we are talking about usually happens in the immediate or near future.
A: John. There's somebody knocking on our door. B: OK. I'll answer it.
In spoken English we use the contraction 41, not will. A: Can somebody help me with these bags? B: We'll do it.
