A. 1. What time do you get up as a rule? 2. Do you like to get up early? 3. What time do you have breakfast? 4. When do you leave home for work? 5. How do you get to work? 6. How long does it take you to get to work? 7. Are you ever late for work? 8. What time does your working day start? 9. What do you do at work? 10. You are always very busy at work, aren’t you? 11. Where do you have lunch? 12. How long do you stay at work? 13. When do you come home from work? 14. What do you like to do in the evening? 15. Do you prepare for your English classes in the evening? 16. How long does it take you to get ready for your English class?

B. 1. What does your wife do? 2. Where does she work? 3. What time does she leave home for work? 4. How long does she stay at work? 5. Is your wife a busy woman? 6. Do you help her about the house? 7. Have you got any children? 8. What is their daily routine? 9. Do you spend much time with your family?

2. Speak on:

a) your working day; b) your wife’s (parents’, friend’s) daily routine.

3. You want to give the impression of being a man who does everything himself; you are very efficient and do most of important things at work. Say what you do.

4. You like evenings at home better than mornings. Say why.

5. You don’t like public transport. But you have no car and you have to travel to and from work on public transport. Say how you get to work and back home.

6. Imagine that you are a journalist. You want to interview your friend, his secretary and his boss. What questions are you going to ask?

7. Fill in your memo diary for today. Use Mr Rimmer’s notes as an example:

Monday, 15th March

9.00 - study the firm contract

10.00 - discuss the terms with Mr Anbart

11.00 - coffee break

12.00 - lunch with Mr Munro

13.30 - telex London for detailed information

14.30 - discuss the annual report with the chief
