Make a brief summary of the text of the dialogue

Read and translate the dialogue.

Klimov. We’ve brought the specifications. Have a look at them, please. In this picture you can see a machine. The technical characteristics are below. On the right the price is given.

Brown. Oh, you’ve got a few models.

K. Yes, this is the latest model.

B. I think this is the best model. The price, however, is too high.

K. The preliminary price is quoted here. Everything depends on the volume of your order. The more machines you order, the lower the price is.

B. Our firm is prepared to order your machines. This is our trial order. What discount can you grand us?

K. Will a 5% discount suit you?

B. Not quite. The point is that we intended to buy only 30 machines at first and see their performance in our conditions. Then we’ll buy 100 more machines. The order is large and we expect a large discount.

K. We agree to give you a 7% discount. The only problem which remains to be discussed is the terms of delivery and the terms of payment. Let’s begin with the terms of delivery.

B. It would be more convenient for us to get your machines in one consignment.

K. No objections. We usually deliver goods on the CIF terms. That is, we provide for the insurance and freight of goods.

B. We agree in principle. Have you got any vessels of a tonnage which permits loading all the 30 machines on one vessel?

K. I think, there are.

B. Then we don’t mind your delivering the machines on CIF terms Glasgow.

K. And what about the time of delivery?

B. We’d like to receive the goods 6 months after the contract is signed. That is in December.

K. There is another problem concerning the terms of payment. Let’s discuss.

B. We’ll make the payment through the Moscow Saving Bank.

K. When will you pay?

B. As soon as we receive your notification that the goods are ready for shipment. We’d like to effect the payment by installments within 120 days from the date of the bill of lading.

K. We can give you 90 days.

B. I am not authorized to decide this question alone. I’ll have to phone to my boss.
