Every aircraft is supplied with communication and navigation radio equipment. A receiver and transmitter are used for two-way communication between aircraft and the ground station or other aircraft. The radio receiver receives radio waves. The range of wavelength is divided into Long Waves (above 3000 meters in length), Medium Waves (between 200 and 300 meters), Short Waves, Ultra–Short Waves. _____The radio transmitter radiates energy in wave form at radio frequency. Wherever the pilot flies his flight is always aided by radio waves, regardless of weather. Radio waves tell the pilot where he is, in which direction he is flying, how near is the ground and whether there are obstructions on his path. With the help of the radio range beacon the pilot can check his position along the airways. Flight and navigation instruments, electrical, radio and radar equipment, de-icing and other systems ensure safety of flight and landing in adverse weather conditions both by day and night and in various climatic zones and good stability of the aircraft, ability to fly with one or even two engines failed.
