Communication equipment
An aeroplane is provided with radio communication equipment capable of:
a) conducting two-way communication for aerodrome control purposes;
b) receiving meteorological information at any time during flight; and
c) conducting two-way communication at any time during flight with at least one aeronautical station and with such other aeronautical stations and on such frequencies as may be prescribed by the appropriate authority.
Communications connect the flight deck to the ground, and the flight deck to the passengers. On board communications are provided by public address systems and aircraft intercoms.
Communication equipment consists of USW radio stations that are used for communication of the crew with the ground station for distances no more than 400 km and SW radio stations that serve for communication of the crew with the ground station for long distance flights. Aircraft communication device is designed for communication of the crew in the cockpit. All talks are recorded on recorders. The recorders are housed in the black box. Aircraft Loudspeaker System is used for informing passengers during the flight
