Storage of dangerous goods

The storage place should be identified with appropriate notices. Placards providing visual warning of dangerous and toxic goods should be clearly visible from all approaches. Any material that burns easily should be separately stored. There shouldn’t be any substance that could react with dangerous goods in the warehouses. Public access is restricted. Smoking near the flammable and explosive goods is forbidden. Any escape, spill or leak of dangerous goods should be avoided.

Different absorbent materials and agents preventing spillage such as soda or lime as well as hand tools (buckets, bins, mops, squeegees) must be accessible at any time in the storage places.

Any fuel container should be at least 5meters far from the storage place of dangerous goods. Parking of vehicles is forbidden because the hot engine, spark from mechanical friction, and oil leak can cause a fire.

It is necessary to keep all surfaces of goods clean and not to allow accumulation of dust. Electric equipment needs to be suitable for storage places. Temperature control, refrigerators, cooling systems, fire-fighting equipment, water supply, closed package and adequate ventilation are required to provide our safety and to prevent emergency situations.
