Принимать во внимание социологические аспекты при анализе соматических нарушений и душевных расстройств важно не только в научно-познавательном плане, но и с точки зрения непосредственного практического значения. Так, в ряде исследований интервенции удалось впечатляюще подтвердить, что межличностные и структурные мероприятия, повышающие соответствие между саморегуляцией, социоэмоциональной мотивацией и общественной структурой шансов и вознаграждений, оказывают благоприятное воздействие на здоровье. Например, в сфере производственных оздоровительных мероприятий это показали инновации в организации работы (Karasek & Theorell, 1990; Siegrist, 1996), другой пример — программа вторичной профилактики по улучшению совладания с болезнью за счет социоэмоциональной поддержки и улучшенной саморегуляции (Frasure-Smith & Prince, 1989). Интегрируя социологические знания, мы также ставим перед клинической психологией новые и важные практические задачи в диагностике, терапии и профилактике.
