В одном из исследований, проведенных в США (Magee et al., 1996), было показано, что риск возникновения специфических фобий в течение жизни равен 11,5%, а социофобий — 13,3%. Аналогичная частота заболеваний (для социофобий, правда, немного ниже) была зарегистрирована и в Германии (Wittchen & Perkonigg, 1996), хотя срезовая частота заболеваний (частота заболеваний, зарегистрированная в течение одного месяца) значительно ниже и составляет для специфической фобии 5,5%, а для социофобии — 4,5%. Различие между более высокой частотой заболеваний в течение жизни и более низкой, фиксируемой в течение одного месяца, может рассматриваться как указание на то, что либо эти фобии спонтанно ослабевают, либо — что кажется на основе лонгитюдных исследований более вероятным — обнаруживают флуктуирующее течение. Очевидно, в течение жизни индивида с такими фобиями фазы с серьезными ограничениями и многочисленными симптомами часто чередуются с фазами, когда симптомы практически отсутствуют. Обе формы фобических расстройств обычно (более чем в 80% случаев) впервые возникают в подростковом периоде и в ранней взрослости, причем социофобии и специфические фобии в отличие от панических расстройств и генерализованного тревожного расстройства редко появляются после 25 лет. Женщины страдают специфической фобией в два-три раза чаще, чем мужчины, а социофобией лишь немного чаще — 15,5% против 11,1% у мужчин. Специфические фобии и социофобии связаны с существенным риском появления в дальнейшем других психических расстройств: впоследствии могут развиться другие тревожные расстройства (риск в 5,8-8,5 раз выше, чем у лиц без фобических расстройств), депрессивные расстройства (риск в 3,7-5,6 раз выше), а также злоупотребления психоактивными веществами и зависимости от них (риск в 2 раза выше). Необходимо учитывать, что развитие коморбидности связано со значительным ростом ограничений, связанных с появлением симптомов, в профессиональной и повседневной жизни. Также повышается вероятность поиска помощи у врачей и психологов (Magee et al., 1996).

Заключение
Как уже отмечалось, в DSM-IV навязчивые и посттравматические стрессовые расстройства приведены под рубрикой тревожных расстройств. Так как подробное рассмотрение этих расстройств выходит за рамки данной главы, мы хотели бы вкратце отметить, что — как и в случае рассмотренных тревожных расстройств — и для навязчивых, и для посттравматических стрессовых расстройств существует множество моделей различной степени сложности, пытающихся объяснить их возникновение. Обзор этих моделей и обсуждаемых в настоящее время факторов риска можно найти для навязчивых расстройств в книгах Reinecker, 1991 и Salkovskis & Kirk, 1996, а для посттравматических стрессовых расстройств у Saigh, 1995; van der Kolk, McFarlande & Weisaeth, 1996. Для навязчивых и посттравматических стрессовых расстройств в равной степени справедливо то, что их этиология и патогенез до сих пор полностью не ясны. Несмотря на то что конкретные модели в том виде, в котором они сформулированы сегодня, еще не могут рассматриваться как достаточно надежные, ими все же можно руководствоваться при терапевтической интервенции.
