For the first time it was mentioned as the village of Bogoyavlenka in 1849. In 1859 population of the village increased and reached the number of 620 people. At the end of the 19th century the number of inhabitants reached 1149 people. The wooden church with a belltower was constructed in the village in 1910 and the first school was opened there. Since the end of the 20th years the village has begun to grow slowly after hunger and ruin. So in 1931 there were 248 yards in the village. Later the radio has appeared.

There are four radio stations in the town now. Moreover, different kinds of sport and entertainments are in the town, such as beautiful park, cafes, sports complex Olympus.

Holidays In Great Britain

There are fewer public holidays in Great Britain than in other European countries. They are: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Easter, May Day, Spring and Summer Bank Holidays. Public holidays in Britain are called bank holidays, because banks, offices and shops are closed.

The most popular holiday is Christmas: groups of singers go from house to house. They collect money for charity and sing carols, traditional Christmas songs.

The fun starts on the 24th of December. This is the day when people decorate their trees. Children hang stockings at the end of their beds, hoping that Father Christmas will come down the chimney during the night and fill them with toys and sweets.

Besides public holidays there are some special festivals in Great Britain. One of them is on the 5th of November. On that day, in 1605, Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I. He didn't succeed. The King's men found the bomb, took Guy Fawkes to the Tower and cut off his head.

There are also smaller, local festivals in Britain.

School Uniform
School uniform is an important part of school life in many countries. Most schools in Russia also require school uniforms. Some schools have dark blue uniforms, while others use dark red or dark green colours. Some schools in Russia accept white shirts and black skirts for girls and black trousers for boys. Nevertheless, all these school uniforms have something in common. They all look rather smart and strict. Children’s opinions on school uniform differ. Some of them say they like wearing it, while others prefer to wear a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. In my opinion, the school uniform has both advantages and disadvantages. Firstly, when children wear a school uniform, they realize that they are at school not at a swimming-pool or a stadium. Secondly, school uniforms prevent social inequality. It means that both rich and poor children wear the same clothes. Furthermore, children don’t have problems with clothes in the morning. As for me, I support the idea of wearing a school uniform. At school we must follow the rules. Fashion in Russia

There are always trends in my country, and so teenagers wear a variety of clothes. A lot of teenagers are influenced by American TV and they try look like some American kids. Many boys like to wear large baggy trousers, Nike or Adidas trainers and baseball caps. Most girls seem to follow the latest fashion that they see in magazines. Others are inspired by rock groups and wear the same clothes. Some teens want to express their independence and individuality. There are also teenagers who don`t follow the latest fashion, but dress comfortably and tastefully. Even if you don`t have much money you can dress fashionably. In Russia there are a lot of shops both for rich people, middle class and poor.
