Sberbank Rossii OAO is a Russia-based commercial bank. It provides a range of corporate and retail banking services, such as payments and transfers, currency exchange, credit cards, travel checks, mutual funds, precious metal trading, deposits, brokerage services and many others.

Fiat SpA has signed a Letter of Intent with Sberbank Rossii OAO in relation to a new project for the production and distribution of passenger and commercial vehicles in Russia.
Sberbank Rossii OAO intends to finance the project and also take a minority equity interest of up to 20% in the Joint Venture. The product range is expected to be based on Jeep vehicles and could subsequently be expanded to include other models and engines which will be produced and assembled locally. Production capacity of 120,000 vehicles will be established. Total Investment in the project could reach EUR 850 million. The project encompasses a main plant - the preferred option for is currently to locate it in the St. Petersburg area - and also the assembly of vehicles, SUVs and potentially light commercial vehicles in Moscow via contract manufacturing to be entered into with Zavod im. I.A Likhacheva OAO (ZIL) thanks to the cooperation with the Government of Moscow.
Chrysler Group LLC, in which Fiat SpA holds a 58.5% stake, may also participate in the project as an investor, as well as licensing production of some of its models. Parties will continue discussions and will seek for all corporate approvals.
Reuters reported that BNP Paribas SA has signed a firm partnership to create a Russian consumer finance joint venture with Russia's Sberbank Rossii OAO. BNP Paribas said that following June's Memorandum of Understanding between the two banks, BNP Paribas and Sberbank Rossii OAO have agreed to set up a Russian consumer finance bank. The bank will operate under the French bank's Cetelem brand. Sberbank will hold a 70% stake in the joint venture while BNP Paribas will hold the remaining 30%. The transaction is set to close in summer, once regulatory approval is granted.
