NU STAFF GAMES

NAZARBAYEV UNIVERSITY STAFF AND FACULTY SPORTS EVENT

REGULATIONS

 

I. Event goals

NU Staff Games is a sports event at Nazarbayev University for staff, faculty, and their families that is conducted in the goals of:

· promoting healthy life-style and engagement in regular sports activities among the NU community members;

· propaganda of sports and healthy life-style values;

· further popularization of mini-football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and other sports among faculty and staff members of NU;

· facilitation and execution of community intramural competitions, and unveiling the best teams and players;

· development of new relationships between schools, structural units, and private entities of NU for better corporate spirit at the University.

 

II. Games dates

NU Staff Games will occur in 2 days,each 4 to 6 hours-long onOctober 8-9.

 

III. Sports included in the Games program, team membership.

Necessary team rosters required for participation as a competitor team:

Sports Roster size
1 Mini-football (10 persons) 5 players on field per team;
2 Voleyball (10 persons) 6 players on field per team (3 men + 3women);
3 Table Tennis (3 persons) 3 players at tables per team (2men + 1woman)
4 Basketball (10 persons) 5 players on field per team (3 men + 2 women)  
5 Armwrestling (up to 2 competitors from same unit) Personals
6 Chess (up to 2 competitors from same unit) Personals

 

Each competitor can compete in no more than 2 sports. Team that does not have a required number of team members at the games scheduled start time, it will receive a technical loss, but it will not be eliminated from competition.

 

IV. Participation

Competitor Teams:         

1. teams must be compiled from NU workers of schools (graduate schools can make a combined team), administration, private entities and other NU organizations (except NMH) except for student-workers and interns;

2. each team must have a representative that seats in the work group for Games preparation, and is responsible for communications and facilitation of works with teams;

3. providing jerseys for players and attributes for fans is in schools’, structural units’, Pes’, and other NU organizations’ own discretion;

4. Competitors have to sign the INFORMED CONSENT FORM.

Attending Viewers:

1. supporting fan-teams are welcome for the event;

2. event is open to NU staff and faculty members’ families and children:inflatable bouncer for children, contests for attendees will be provided;

3. best fan team will be awarded special prize.

 

V. Refereeing

Refereeing is provided by qualified judges/referees according to each present sport’s rules.

 

VI. Awards

                                

Teams that win 1-3 places in each sport are awarded:

For I place – cup trophy, medal, diploma;                    

For II place – medal, diploma;

For III place – medal, diploma.                                                       

 

Competitors that performed well in following nominations are awarded:

“Best Volleyball Player” cup trophy, diploma, special prize;

“Best Volleyball Passer Player” cup trophy, diploma, special prize;

“Best Football Striker”cup trophy, diploma, special prize;

“Best Football Goalie”cup trophy, diploma, special prize;

“Best Football Defender”cup trophy, diploma, special prize;

“Best Basketball Player”cup trophy, diploma, special prize;

“Best Table Tennis Player”cup trophy, diploma, special prize;

“Best Fan Team”special prize.

LIABILITY WAIVER / INFORMED CONSENT FORM

I, as indicated below, recognize that the Games may involve strenuous physical activity including, but not limited to, muscle strength and endurance training, cardiovascular conditioning and training, and other various fitness activities. I hereby affirm that I am in good physical condition and do not suffer from any known disability or condition which would prevent or limit participation in this tournament.

I, as indicated below, acknowledge that my enrollment and subsequent participation is purely voluntary and is in no way mandated by Nazarbayev University and its organizations.

In consideration of my participation in this tournament, I, as indicated below, hereby release Nazarbayev University and its agents from any claims, demands, and causes of action as a result of our voluntary participation and enrollment.

I, as indicated below, fully understand that I may injure myself as a result of my enrollment and subsequent participation in this tournament and we hereby release Nazarbayev University and its agents from any liability now or in the future for conditions that I may obtain. These conditions may include, but are not limited to, heart attacks, strokes, muscle strains, muscle pulls, muscle tears, broken bones, shin splints, injuries to knees or other joints of the body, injuries to back, injuries to a foot, heat prostration, or any other illness or soreness that we may incur, including death.

I HEREBY AFFIRM THAT I HAVE READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE STATEMENTS.
