Новое поко ление вырос ло с той пор ы, когда 26 а преля 1986 г. во вре мя планово го отключе ния реактор а на Черноб ыльской АЭС про изошел мощ ный взрыв, пере вернувший пре дставление л юдей о мир ном атоме.
Сразу же пос ле взрыва по гиб 31 чело век, многие л иквидаторы, пр инимавшие уч астие в ту шении пожаро в и расчист ке, получи ли высокие доз ы радиации. Тр агедия мог ла быть еще бо льше, если б ы на АЭС про изошел второ й взрыв.
Оказывается, с пустя меся ц после стр ашной апре льской авар ии на 4-ом э нергоблоке н а ЧАЭС мог про греметь еще о дин взрыв. Дес ять часов про должалось ту шение нахо дящихся по д напряжен ием горящи х кабелей. Ру ководил бр игадой пож арников Вл адимир Макс имчук, геро ические де йствия которо го спасли м ир от стра шной катастроф ы. Максимчу к, облучен ный смерте льной дозо й радиации – 700 ре нтген, еще в тече ние семи лет пос ле того ро кового соб ытия возгл авлял пожар ную охрану Мос квы, созда л первую в Росс ии вертолет ную пожарно-с пасательну ю службу и у мер в 1994 го ду. В 2003 го ду ему было пр исвоено зв ание Героя Росс ии.
Радиоактивному з агрязнению по дверглось 14 субъе ктов совре менной Росс ийской Федер ации, 4343 н аселенных пу нкта наход ятся в зоне по вышенной р адиации.
Общая площ адь зараже нных территор ий составл яет 57 тыс яч километро в.
По расчета м эксперто в, суммарн ый выход р адиоактивн ых материа лов состав ил 50 милл ионов кюри, что р авнозначно пос ледствиям взр ывов 500 ато мных бомб, сбро шенных в 1 945 году н а Хиросиму.
Сегодня на иболее сло жная радиа ционная обст ановка сохр аняется в Бр янской обл асти. По д анным монитор инга, около 1 3% проб про дуктов, исс ледуемых в л ичных подсоб ных хозяйст вах в райо нах Брянско й области, и меют превы шение гигие нических нор мативов до пустимого р адиационно го фона.
Важная проб лема, не ре шенная пок а украинск ими властя ми, – это не н айденные д аже спустя 24 го да после к атастрофы мо гильники, ку да в спешке б ыли захоро нены радио активные от ходы. В зо не возле взор вавшегося ре актора нахо дятся почт и не охран яемые стоя нки радиоа ктивной те хники (грузо вики, воен ная и спас ательная те хника). Част ь техники б ыла разобр ана на запч асти, где и к ак они испо льзуются се йчас неизвест но.
Все реактор ы ЧАЭС ост ановлены с 2000 го да, но ста нция и сар кофаг над взор вавшимся 4- ым энергоб локом не ст али от это го безопас нее. Они по- прежнему требу ют внимани я и финансо вых расходо в. Работы н а ЧАЭС будут про должаться е ще как мин имум до 2064- го года. 27 апреля 2006 го да в газете « Московский ко мсомолец» по явилось сооб щение о про ведении ко ммерческой тур истической э кскурсии в Чер нобыле. В де нь в зоне отчу ждения мог ли оказатьс я до 60 тур истов (по д анным журн алистского р асследован ия).
Чернобыльская АЭС пре дставляет ре альную угрозу и в н аши дни. Ост ается много нере шенных соц иальных проб лем: непол ное информ ирование об щественност и о состоя нии ЧАЭС, ре абилитация постр адавших пр и аварии, безр аботица, необ ходимость восст ановления урб анизирован ных экосисте м. Но не ме нее важная проб лема – орг анизация тур изма, котор ая требует обес печения безо пасности л юдей, или, ес ли это невоз можно, пол ного запрет а туризма.
