My Family
I was born on the fifth of March in 1987 in the town of Makiyivka. My name is Ann. My family consists of 4 members: my father, mother, my elder sister and me. As you see it is not large. We love each other very much. We are friendly and sociable.
My father is a businessman. He is 45. My mother is a good-looking woman of 42. She works at school, she is a teacher.
My sister is a pretty girl of 18. Her name is Lena. This year she has finished school and entered the Institute, the Department of Sociology. She is going to be a sociologist. As far as I know this profession is rather new, but to my mind it is very interesting. It seems to me sociology is the way of understanding the world, that’s why I decided to be a sociologist as my sister did. I believe this occupation is of vital importance and I’ll be able to help a lot of people.
When my sister has some spare time, she tells me about the students’ life, exams and credit-tests, about difficulties and problems on the way to her career development.
My mother is good at cooking. On Saturdays we invite our friends or relatives to enjoy tasty things and a pleasant talk.
My grandparents are pensioners. They live not far away. We visit them very often; help them with their house-keeping.
In the evening after the working day we usually gather in the sitting-room, watch TV and discuss our problems.
