He was born in 1899 in Chicago. He studied in high school but didn't go to college. He went to Kansas City and became a reporter for the newspaper there. During the First World War this man became a war correspondent. He reported news from Spain, China and Europe. Many of his books were about war. His famous books are «For Whom the Bell Tolls» and «Farewell to Arms». He got the Nobel prize for literature in 1954. Towards the end of his life the writer suffered from depression and in 1961 he committed suicide. Who was he?

Most of all he was interested in mathematics. At the age of 26 he became professor of mathematics. This scientist wrote a lot of books on different problems in physical sciences. His most famous work was «The Law of Universal Gravitation». He died in 1727 at the age of 85. Who was he?
