From the technical point of view there are air television, cable television and digital one.

Air television. The best thing about this kind of television is that it is the cheapest. In other aspects it is the worst. As a rule it has very limited number of channels that are not very popular and of well quality and the screen doesn't show the good quality of the picture. Cable television. This kind of television has a wider choice of channels (sometimes it may have even 30 channels). The number and the quality depend on the operator and the owner of the cable television company. But the equipment for such kind of television is very expensive and that is why it is paid.

Sputnik television. Air and Cable television occupy only some special zones, but sputnik television is available for all population of the country in any place. Moreover the quality of the picture doesn't depend on the place where the television is situated. Sputnik television is highly developed one. It offers not only a great amount of information through the great number of channels but also the perfect quality of transmission. Due to the possibility of watching channels in different languages and the popularity of its channels sputnik television is the most spread and used nowadays.

Nowadays more than 100 satellites work for one country and transmit the channels from different countries. The new technologies and the development of equipment are favorable for the further development of sputnik television.

They also give the news only of the region and in majority of cases deal with very limited amount of information. The national ones tell the information about the whole country and as a rule the most watched and the most popular. The offices of such channels in majority of cases are situated in the capital of the country.

There are also sports, advertising, news, film, mixed and many others. They differ in dependence of the main topic they have. The sport channel shows sports, film channel shows movies, news channel as a rule deals with all kinds of news such as economic, political, international etc. Mixed channels are the most spread. They contain everything: news, films, programs, quizzes etc.

So, the modern world offers different possibilities. You can choose the kind of television you like according to your financial situation. Of course, the quality of the picture and the equipment you need depend on the television you choose and the money you pay.
