To be healthy and active, one should eat useful food. It should be rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vitamins are important nutritious elements. They perform many functions. Their leading role in an organism is ability to regulate chemical reactions. All vitamins are divided into two groups — fat-soluble and water-soluble. At present days there are more than 30 vitamins.

Minerals are low-molecular substances, salts and ions of salts. Selenium, manganese, iodine, copper, zinc, iron, etc. belong to minerals. In your body there are about 65 minerals. They are necessary for renewal of cells and tissues, formation of bones and work of all systems and organs. The lack of vitamins and minerals can lead to various health problems.

Vitamins and minerals

In order to be healthy and active, one should eat the right food. It should be rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vitamins are organic elements which are very important and useful for people. They help to normal work and human body development, tissue renewal, regular metabolism, immunity improvement. At present days there are more than 30 vitamins, they bear names of Latin letters – A, B, C, etc. With food we receive vitamins: oranges and currant contain vitamin C. It protects against scurvy. Fish and caviar are rich with vitamin B. It is needed to strengthen our nervous system. In vegetable oil there is the vitamin E, and vitamin A can be found in carrots and eggs.

Minerals are low-molecular substances, salts and ions of salts. Selenium, manganese, iodine, copper, zinc, iron, etc. belong to minerals. In your body there are about 65 minerals. They make 4% of our weight, but each of them is responsible for a certain sphere of functioning of a human body and has vital value for activity. Their functions in an organism are various. They are necessary for renewal of cells and tissues, formation of bones and work of all systems and organs.

Besides, our organism has regularities of a combination of minerals and vitamins. For example, B6, B12, K, D vitamins improve absorption of calcium and reduce its removal. The synergy (positive interaction) of vitamins and minerals is important for support of health of our organism, competent treatment of the arising diseases.
