Let's talk about shopping. Who does the shopping in your family?

When we want to buy something, we go to a shop.

There are different shops - big shops and small shops, department stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets.

Supermarkets and hypermarkets have many departments: ready-made clothes,, shoes, sports goods, toys, china and glass, electric appliances, cosmetics, linen, curtains, cameras, computers, fabrics etc.

In the men’s clothes department you can choose suits, trousers, overcoats, sweaters, shirts, ties, jeans, socks etc.

In the women’s clothing department you can find dresses, costumes, blouses, skirts, coats, beautiful underwear and many other things.

In the perfumery they sell face cream and powder, lipstick, lotion, and shampoos.

At the bakery department we buy white and brown bread, rolls, buns, cookies, cakes, biscuits..

At the grocery we buy sugar, salt, macaroni, flour, cereals, tea, and coffee.

At the greengrocer’s we buy potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, oranges, apples and other fruits and vegetables.

At the dairy we buy milk, cream, yogurt, cheese, butter and other products.

My mother usually does the shopping in my family.

Do you like shopping? Why (not)?

Yes, I like shopping. Because I like new clothes.

(No, I don’t like shopping. There are always a lot of people in the shops. But I like shopping for some software, cameras etc.)

What questions will you ask a shop assistant to help you to choose a purchase?

I think I’ll ask him the following questions:

· Excuse me...Can you help me?

· How much is this camera?

· Where can I pay for the camera?

What can you advise a person who wants to buy many things (clothes, foodstuffs, etc.) but has little time?

I think I’ll give him the following advice:

· Go to a hypermarket, they have many departments. You’ll buy everything there.

Parents usually give pocket money to their children. How do you usually

Spend your pocket money?

I can’t say I have much pocket money. But if I have some I spend it on cookies, sweets, perfumery, cosmetics, software...

14. Let's talk about leisure time

1. Let’s talk about your free time. What hobbies do teenagers have?

OK,..., let's talk about myfree time. I can’t say that I have a lot of free time now as I’m getting ready for my exams and CT.

But of course I always find pleasure in listening to some good music or chatting with my friends. I also enjoy playing computer games or just browsing the internet. If the weather is good I like walking in the park or along the streets of the town.

Besides I like sports and do it regularly.

I think most teenagers have the same hobbies.

Do you find it useful to go to the theatre or cinema? Why (not)?

Unfortunately there is no cinema in Malorita so I watch films on TV or from the internet. But sometimes we go to Brest to see a new film at the cinema. It is always fun.

What questions can you ask a British friend about his/her free time?

1. The first q-n: How often do you go to the cinema?

2. The second q-n What do you do in your free time?

3. The third q-n: Have you got much free time?

Give me some advice on what to do in my free time.

I think I'll give you the following advice:

· meet your friends more often and you’ll never feel lonely

Many parents think that children should spend less time playing computer games, that they should play outside or do some sport instead. What do you think about this?

I agree that children should spend less time playing computer games. Of course they should play outside or do some sport.
