Do you live in a house or in a flat? What is there in your house/flat?

As for me, I live in a cottage (flat). My house (flat) is not large, but it is very cosy. There are four rooms in it: a living-room and 2 bedrooms. There is a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet there too. Our living-room is large and comfortable.. We have modern furniture in it and a good TV-set. I like to watch TV and play or talk with my parents in the evening in this room.

Our kitchen is small, but it is cozy. There is a cooker, a refrigerator, a table and four chairs. Our bathroom is clean and nice. We wash clean teeth in the bathroom. I have my own room too. There is a table with a computer on it, a sofa and a carpet on the floor. I like my house very much. I think, there is no place like home.

3. What questions would you ask a person who came to Malorita from a big city?

I think I’ll ask him the following questions:

· Are you happy to live in a big city?

· Is the air clean in your city?

· What do you do in your free time!

Your close friend is hesitating whether to move to Minsk or stay in Malorita. She (he) asks you for advice. What would you say?

I think I’ll give the following advice:

· Oh, it’s a good idea! Don’t hesitate! I think the city life is up to you because you are very sociable and like active and challenging life.

· Go ahead!

5. Where would you prefer to live in the city or in the country?

I wouldprefer to live in the city because I am keen on visiting, cinemas, concerts, clubs and I don’t mind noise and traffic jams.

(I wouldprefer to live in the country because I enjoy the peace and fresh air of the countryside and the air in the countryside is very clean and there are no noisy crowds, so living in the country can be useful for your health. Besides, people know each other in the country and they are friendlier I think.)

2. Why do people prefer to live in the city? Are there any disadvantages of living in the city?

Lots of people prefer living in cities rather than in the country because there many advantages of living in the city.

First of all, in the city you can get good education. Of course, it is easier to find work in the city than in the country. Besides, salaries are much higher in the city. And there are better facilities for entertainment and sports there.

But there are some disadvantages of living in the city. I think, living in a city is often very expensive. What is more, public transport is often crowded. There are traffic jams in the rush hour. There is little parking place for cars in the yards and in the streets.

The same as in topic №9.
