And I’d like to say a few words about my studies at school

So, my name is... and I’m a pupil of the 11th form of Malorita gymnasia. The gymnasia is a three-storied building – big, comfortable and quite modern.

On the ground floor there are several classrooms for junior pupils, workshops, a cloakroom, a canteen, a library and a headmaster’s office.

On the first and second floors there are classrooms for senior pupils, a teacher’s room and a gymnasium.

I go (went) to school five (six) days a week. Classes start at 8 o'clock in the morning and last till 2-3 p.m.. Usually we have (had) 6 or 7 lessons a day. We study(ied) a lot of different subjects: Russian, Belarusian, English, Russian and Belarusian literatures, History, Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Computer studying, PE etc. I like (d) History, Belarusian and Maths most of all. I usually receive (d) good marks in these subjects.

The same as in topic 5

8. Let's talk about jobs and careers

Let's talk about your future career. What is your idea of an ideal job?

OK,..., let's talk about my future career.

We are finishing school now and it’s time to make a final choice of your future profession.

There are thousands of different jobs. No wonder that it is not an easy thing to make the right choice.

When choosing a future career, we should consider different factors. In my opinion, interest and money are one of the most important factors when you make a choice. I want to have an interesting and well-paid job. I want to get satisfaction from my job.

As for me I made up my mind to be an engineer (an economist, an officer, a programmer). I think that nowadays this profession is of great need. I’m sure that I’m quite suitable for this job - I am good at maths. I have good analytical abilities. I think I'm rather communicative and have good social skills. Besides, I am good at problem-solving.

Is there any profession you wouldn't like to go into? Why?

I wouldn’t like to work us a teacher. To my mind, it is a very stressful job. Do you agree?

Imagine that you are applying for a job. What questions will you ask your future employer? (Ask 3 questions.)

I think I’ll ask him the following questions.

1. At what time will my working day start?

2. When shall I have my holiday?

3. What salary shall I have?

Give some advice how to behave at a job interview to create a positive impression on the employer.

I think I’ll give the following advice:

· Be honest! Do not pretend to be cleverer than you really are!

· Ask correct questions! Be polite!

Some people think that having computer skills is necessary to get a good job. Do you agree with this?

I agree that computer skills are necessary to get a good job. Because computers are used in many spheres of life.

9. Let's talk about life in the city and in the country

1.Let's talk about life in the city and in the country. Why do people prefer to live in the city? Are there any disadvantages of living in the city?

OK,..., let's talk about life in the city and in the country.

Lots of people prefer living in cities rather than in the country because there many advantages of living in the city.

First of all, in the city you can get good education. Of course, it is easier to find work in the city than in the country. Besides, salaries are much higher in the city. And there are better facilities for entertainment and sports there.

But there are some disadvantages of living in the city. I think, living in a city is often very expensive. What is more, public transport is often crowded. There are traffic jams in the rush hour. There is little parking place for cars in the yards and in the streets.
