Been to

I have been to (a place) Я побывал где-то; Я ездил туда, но теперь я вернулся назад

Have you ever been to Japan?

I've been to Rome four times.

Ann has never been to a football match in her life.

Jack has got plenty of money. He has just been to the bank.

On time/in time

On time - вовремя, без опозданий. (если действие происходит on time, это происходит в то время, которое запланировано):

Например:

The 11.45 train left on time. (it left at 11.45)

A: I'll meet you at the corner at 7.30.

B: Okay, but please be on time. (don't be late / be there at 7.30)

The conference was very well organised. Everything began and finished on time.

In time (for something/to do something)-означает «чтобы успеть к чему-то/чтобы успеть сделать что-то»:

Например:

Will you be home in time for dinner? (soon enough for dinner)

I've sent Jill her birthday present. I hope it arrives in time (for her birthday). (soon enough for her birthday)

I must hurry. I want to get home in time to see the football match on

television. (soon enough to see the football match)
