Упражнение 1. Pre-Listening and Listening for gist

Целевая аудитория: студенты лингвистического факультета, 2 курс

Время работы: 15-20 минут

Решаемые методические задачи:

· подготовка к аудированию;

· практика слушания для общего понимания;

· тренировка монологического высказывания на заданную тему;

· актуализация лексики по теме Sport and Self-Inprovement.

Практическая цель использования материала:

· развитие навыков аудирования и контролируемого говорения

Текст задания:

A  Before watching the video think about these questions:

1. Have you ever tried to change your life completely? Why?

2. What is the way to improve one’s life?

3. What could probably help you to change your life for the better?

4. What is the role of a sport in the process of rearranging your life?

B  Watch the video of Connor Franta who decided to participate in Nike LA 13.1 Half-Marathon and revise your answers to the questions above.

· Do they correlate with those of Connor?

· Try to predict the results of his venture.

o Will he succeed?

o What place will he take in the marathon?

1. No, I have never tried to change my life because I’ve always lived well enough due to the care of parent. Though I definitely thought of a great change in times of bad mood or difficulties. I think everyone sooner or later faces a need of improving their life or of a complete renovation.
