U.S. Stores

There are two general kinds of food stores in the USA — supermarkets and convenience stores. A supermarket is a large store which sells not only groceries but also manufactured goods. Convenience stores are smaller, have far fewer non-food items, and charge somewhat higher prices. Besides, there are shopping malls and shopping plazas in America. A shopping mall is a building or set of buildings that contains stores and has interconnecting walkways enabling visitors to easily walk from store to store. Shopping malls are typical for America where a lot of specialized stores and a big department store are joined in one building. A shopping plaza is a shopping complex with chain stores, fastfood restaurants, a parking lot, and perhaps a gas station.
