MY FAMILY

Our family is not large. I have father, mother and a brother. We all live together in a new flat in one of the industrial districts of our city.

My father is 45. He is a tall and well-built man with short black hair and grey eyes. He works at a plant which releases computer technology equipments. My mother is a teacher of music. Her favourite composer is Chopin, and mother 'infected' me with her love to music. Of course, she combines work with housekeeping. She manages our household very well. My father is keen on his job, but in everyday life he is unpractical and needs mother to look after him. My mother is a nice woman of forty, with beautiful chestnut hair and dark-brown eyes. She is an ideal for me.

My brother Andrew is only 11. He goes to school, but he's quite a baby yet, I think. He is very funny and curious. He keeps asking us questions, often silly ones, but at times his curiosity drives me mad. Besides, he's a football fan, and if at the same time a football match and a film I want to watch are broadcast on TV, we almost fight. But those are only moments – I can't imagine my life without our little monster.

We all feel happy when we are all together. In the evenings we often have little gatherings in the kitchen or in the living-room and just talk about the events of the day. But sometimes I have problems with my parents. They don't like the clothes I wear, the music I listen to, and the friends I bring home. It's not easy to be a teenager.

I like weekends when we visit our granny. She is always happy to see us. I love her. When I was a child she used to tell me fairy-tales and stories of her life. Now she is in poor health. She gets a terribly low old-age pension and asks us to come and see her more often.
