Article 7 — Transparency measures

1. Each State Party shall report to the Secretary-General of the United Nations as soon as practicable, and in any event not later than 180 days after the entry into force of this Convention for that State Party on: <…>;

(c) To the extent possible, the location of all mined areas that contain, or are suspected to contain, anti-personnel mines under its jurisdiction or control, to include as much detail as possible regarding the type and quantity of each type of anti-personnel mine in each mined area and when they were emplaced;

(f) The status of programmes for the destruction of anti­-personnel mines in accordance with Articles 4 and 5, including details of the methods which will be used in destruction, the location of all destruction sites and the applicable safety and environmental standards to be observed;

(g) The types and quantities of all anti-personnel mines destroyed after the entry into force of this Convention for that State Party, to include a breakdown of the quantity of each type of anti-personnel mine destroyed, in accordance with Articles 4 and 5, respectively, along with, if possible, the lot numbers of each type of anti-personnel mine in the case of destruction in accordance with Article 4; …

TASK 23. (a)Make the following sentences complete by translating the word combinations in brackets. Pay special attention to the use of the conjunction ‘unless’ which has the meaning ‘if not; except if; except when’. Translate the sentences into Russian:

(13) Unless / provided terminated earlier in accordance with the provisions in Clause 15 hereof the Agreement shall remain in force on each marketing territory until the last patent right expires. (14) Unless / provided otherwise decided by the Court, each party shall bear its own costs.

TASK 24. Translate Article III “Functions of the WTO” of the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization into Russian. Pay special attention to the use of the English auxiliary verb “shall”.

1. The WTO shall facilitate the implementation, administration and opera­tion, and further the objectives, of this Agreement and of the Multilateral Trade Agreements, and shall also provide the framework for the implemen­tation, administration and operation of the Plurilateral Trade Agreements.

2. The WTO shall provide the forum for negotiations among its Members concerning their multilateral trade relations in matters dealt with under the agreements in the Annexes to this Agreement. The WTO may also provide a forum for further negotiations among its Members concerning their multi­lateral trade relations, and a framework for the implementation of the results of such negotiations, as may be decided by the Ministerial Conference.

3. The WTO shall administer the Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes (hereinafter referred to as the "Dispute Settlement Understanding" or "DSU") in Annex 2 to this Agreement.

4. The WTO shall administer the Trade Policy Review Mechanism (herein­after referred to as the "TPRM") provided for in Annex 3 to this Agreement.

5. With a view to achieving greater coherence in global economic policy-making, the WTO shall cooperate, as appropriate, with the International Monetary Fund and with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and its affiliated agencies.
