Theme: Design of scientific research

Purpose of the lesson: Get acquainted with the general requirements of scientific research reports

Lesson Plan:

1. Reports on research work

2. Preparation for publication of scientific materials

Table of contents. Registration of research reports.

General requirements, structure and rules for the preparation of reports on research (R & D) are set by generally accepted standards.

Reports on R & D are subject to the following requirements:

• Construction accuracy;

Logical sequence of materials;

• reliability of evidence;

• Summary and accuracy of the conclusion;

• Accuracy of presenting the results of the work;

• Evidence of the results and validity of the proposal.

General requirements and reporting rules GOST 7.32 ~ 91 "Research Report".

The report on SRW should include:

• title page

• A list of performers with a brief overview of the work performed;

• abstract;

• content (content table);

• a list of abbreviations, symbols and special terms if necessary;

• The main part;

• References;

• add on.

• The abstract should reflect the main content of the report, including the scope of the report, the number and nature of the illustrations, the number of tables, the language of the report; the list of keywords and the text of the abstract.

The abstracts include:

• The main part reflecting the essence of the work performed and the methods of research;

• The proof of the essence of the main part of the abstract.

• Conclusions on the peculiarities, effectiveness, capabilities and scope of the results obtained.

The optimal size of the abstract is 1100... 1200 printed characters. The main sections of the report consist of sections:

• Introduction;

• analytical review (questionnaire);

• justification of the chosen work direction;

• sections of the report, which reflects the methodology, content and results of the work performed;

Conclusion (conclusions and recommendations).

The introduction should briefly describe the current state of the scientific and technical task (assignments), as well as the purpose of the work. The introductory section describes the novelty and relevance of the work and clarifies the work.

The expert review should include the information and the ways of solving the problems in the literature, the possible ways of solving the problems facing research.

The justification for the chosen course of action is based on its advantages over other possible routes.

The preferred research direction and the hypothesis of the research should be based on the recommendations given in the analytical review, taking into account the specific conditions of research.The justification for the chosen research route should not be substituted by the relevance (or need) of the work. Selection of the R & D direction should not be based on the relevant tasks.The sections of the report that indicate the methodology, content and results of the work performed should be presented in detail and consistently with all interim and final results, including negative data.The research methodology should include a justification for the selection of a methodology for research, using the results of mathematical or other research on the results of the study, with reference to relevant sources of information.The content and results of the work performed in the department: description of specific experimental programs, their meaning; it is necessary to evaluate the validity and reliability of data obtained and to compare it with theoretical data.It is necessary to clarify that there is no such comparison. Explain the obtained results and describe them as possible.The application must have auxiliary material, which will interfere with the text when inserted into the main unit.Such materials include:• intermediate mathematical calculations and calculations;• supporting digital datasheets;• Protocols and Acts;• Description of equipment and tools used in research: Experiments, Measurements and Controls;• Personalized technical solutions, guidelines, methods, features, illustrative aids and more. Part of the text, illustrations, tables and formulas shall be drawn up in accordance with the regulations governing the report on the research work report.

The number of illustrations included in the report shall be determined by its contents and shall be sufficient to ensure that the material presented is clear and accurate.

Illustrations, details and inscriptions are made to provide a qualitative reproduction or a computerized image.

Each picture must be handwritten. The signature will be printed on the same line as shown in the picture. The inscriptions in the image make the size of the letters in all the numbers in the report the same size. Numerical material in the reports is in the form of tables. Each table needs to be an important topic. The table contains the word "table" and its number. Table number, and number of numbers.

The title is located above the word "Table". The word "table" and the name begin with the letter. Template graphic themes should begin with capital letters - the sub-sections should be lowercase letters.

In the text of the report, if necessary, formulas are put in place. By formula, symbols, coefficients, etc. explanations, comments.

In the comment, the values of symbols and numerical coefficients should be expressed in the straight line according to the formula directly.

The value of each symbol and number coefficient should be given in the new line. The first way of interpretation begins with the word "here". After this word, a colon is not inserted. At the end of the formula, put a dot or comma. Formulas are numbered in Arabic numerals.

The list of used literature includes all the used information sources.

Information on monographs, articles, standards, inventions, reports, newspaper publications, research reports, catalogs and other materials. in accordance with the requirements published in the Bulletin. Registration of research reports is carried out in accordance with generally accepted standards.

The report should include a title page, a brief summary of the work, abstract, content, abbreviations, symbols and special terms, the main section, used literature and applications, a list of performers.

The sections of the report that indicate the methodology, content and results of the work performed should be presented in detail and consistently with all interim and final results, including negative data.

Prepare scientific materials for publication.

Publication of scientific materials is a form of copyright protection by researchers or researchers, or by a team of researchers or researchers, whose results are within the scope of research and development.

Publication of scientific materials may be carried out in open editions or in closed form. Publication publishes work that does not contradict certain requirements. The publication of scientific materials can be done as follows:

• monographs;

• Articles in periodicals;

• articles from universities, research institutes, international, industry and conferences and other types;

• Thesis on official meetings and conferences;

• articles in abstract journals;

• State-approved R & D reports;

• patents for invention and discovery;

• works stored in republican scientific and technical libraries;

• Newspaper publications.

Preparation for publication of scientific materials includes the following steps:

• Studying the publisher's requirements for publishing scientific papers;

• Writing the content of the selected section of the research work;

• check the content of the article for patent purity;

• open access to the article in an open print publication and due to the lack of inventions;

• Review of the article for external and internal review;

• Getting the article to the publisher.

The requirements for the preparation of scientific materials depend on the type of materials and include:

• requirements for paper and its format;

• size of fields: left, right, top, bottom;

• page numbering;

• Registrar of registration;

• Requirements for the preparation of tables and figures;

• font and print intervals;

• initials, surnames, cities, ICS, country;

• writing language;

• Requirements for annotations in other languages.

The content of the published scientific material should be included in the introductory section, essentially the content of the proposed scientific material and the opinion on this subject.

If the author uses or refers to certain scientific works, they must be listed in the literature.

The author is obliged to carry out checking of scientific papers on patentability at the stage of their preparation. The presence of prototypes and analogues should be a feature of the patent for the invention.

For each publication, an appropriate conclusion shall be made regarding the possibility and content of the publication of an expert report on the organization of the work.

Scientific materials presented for publication sometimes require criticism. The overview may be external or internal. Internal expertise is carried out by a specialist of the organization where the work is being carried out. An external review is carried out by a third party expert.

Materials of the research work being under development are incomplete and are not recommended for publication in case of no conclusions or conclusions.

The author (or authors) must carry out independent research on patentability purity at the stage of preparation for publication.

Control questions:

1. Requirements to R & D calculation

2. Types of publication of scientific materials.

3. Requirements for the preparation of scientific materials.
